Privacy Policy

Summary

• The game needs no registration or account. The developer does not collect your personal data.
• The shared leaderboard is optional: only if you enter a nickname yourself, the PirogovLab server stores that nickname and your daily puzzle results; they are visible to other players. Without a nickname nothing is sent.
• Progress (rounds, statistics, settings) is stored on your device, and on Yandex Games also in Yandex cloud saves.
• Ads in the Android app and on Yandex Games are served by Yandex services, which process technical data under their own policies.

Scope

The word game «Марий мут» (Mari Words), a PirogovLab project (developer: Mikhail Pirogov):

• Android app ru.pirogovlab.mariwordle (RuStore, Google Play, APK install);
• the Yandex Games version;
• the web version on pirogovlab.ru.

Data the game stores

Only game data: current and finished rounds, statistics and win streaks, revealed hints, sound and vibration settings, and whether the tutorial was completed. It is kept in app storage or the browser's localStorage on your device and is not sent to the developer, except for the shared leaderboard if you join it (see below). Dictionaries and word cards are built in and work offline.

Shared leaderboard

The game has one leaderboard shared by the web, Android and Yandex Games versions (the «🏆 Лидеры» screen). Joining is voluntary and starts only when you enter a nickname. Then the PirogovLab server (pirogovlab.ru, Russia) receives and stores:

• your nickname (2–16 characters; obscene or abusive nicknames are rejected);
• a random player ID and secret key generated by the game on your device (the server keeps only a hash of the key); they are not linked to your name, phone or any account;
• daily puzzle results: date, word length, the guessed words (to verify the result), number of attempts, win or loss; wins and streaks are computed from them.

Your nickname, attempts, wins and streaks are visible to all players. To prevent abuse the server rate-limits requests and for that keeps a hash of the IP address (not the address itself) for up to one hour. Results played offline are kept on the device and sent later. On Yandex Games, if you are signed in with Yandex ID, the game may suggest your profile name as the nickname; you can change it. You can delete your nickname and all results with «Удалить меня из таблицы» (Remove me from the leaderboard) on the leaderboard screen or by request via the contacts below. The data is not shared with third parties and not used for advertising.

Yandex Games

On Yandex Games the game uses the Yandex Games SDK (Yandex LLC). If you are signed in with Yandex ID, your progress is also saved in Yandex cloud (“player data”) so you can continue on another device; the “Wins” leaderboard may show your Yandex profile name and avatar according to your platform settings. Ads (fullscreen, rewarded and sticky banner) are shown by the platform. Yandex processes this data under the Yandex Games Terms of Use and the Yandex Privacy Policy. The developer receives only the game save and anonymous statistics from the platform.

Ads in the Android app

The app shows ads from the Yandex Advertising Network via the Yandex Mobile Ads SDK (Yandex LLC; includes AppMetrica components): a banner at the bottom of the screen, fullscreen ads between rounds, and rewarded ads that you choose to watch (reveal a letter, an extra attempt). To serve, select and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the SDK may process:

• the device advertising ID (Android Advertising ID, AD_ID permission);
• device and system info: model, Android version, language, screen size;
• network info: connection type, carrier, IP address (approximate region);
• ad impression and interaction data.

This data is received and processed by Yandex, not by the developer, under the Yandex Privacy Policy and the Yandex Advertising Network terms (Rules, Offer). You can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation in Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Privacy → Ads). The game works fully offline; ads are then not loaded.

Web version on pirogovlab.ru

The web version has no ads. Yandex Metrica (Yandex LLC) is used for anonymous traffic statistics; it processes cookies, browser and device data, IP address and on-page actions under the Yandex Privacy Policy. You can block it in your browser; the game keeps working. Like any website, the pirogovlab.ru server keeps standard technical request logs (IP address, time, browser) to operate and protect the site; they are not used to identify players.

Share button

The round result (text with coloured squares; in the web version with a link to the game) is shared only when you tap “Share”, via the Android or browser share sheet, or copied to the clipboard. You choose where it goes; the developer does not receive it.

Android permissions

Internet and network state — to load ads and the shared leaderboard; AD_ID — advertising ID for Yandex Mobile Ads; vibration — haptic feedback (can be turned off in the game settings). The app does not request contacts, camera, microphone, location or file access.

Children

The content is suitable for all ages (0+), but the game is not directed specifically at children and the developer does not knowingly collect children's data. Ads are selected and served by the Yandex Advertising Network under its rules. Parents can opt out of ad personalisation in Android settings or play offline.

Retention and deletion

To delete progress, use «Сбросить прогресс» (Reset progress) in the game settings, uninstall the app, or clear the site data in your browser. Yandex Games cloud saves and profile data are managed in your Yandex ID. The developer stores only shared-leaderboard data (if you entered a nickname); it is deleted with «Удалить меня из таблицы» or on request via the contacts. For ad data you can contact Yandex.

If the way the game handles data changes, this page will be updated; the effective date is shown at the top.
